WENATCHEE — Do you need an especially good excuse to go have a beer down by the waterfront in a beautiful, air-conditioned setting? Now’s your chance.
In perhaps the most ironic combination since that time Sister Mary Josephine was caught riding a Harley past an elementary school, The Taproom by Hellbent Brewing will feature the Wenatchee Valley College Foundation as its nonprofit of the month for its "Do Good Drink Beer" fundraising event in August. This event will be held at The Taproom by Hellbent Brewing in Pybus Public Market on August 6, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Yes, it’s a school night on Wednesday. Your mom says you can go.
For every Hellbent pint sold, The Taproom by Hellbent Brewing will donate $1, and for each pint-to-go that you order, they will double the donation. Ron Evans, local publisher and beer aficionado who frequents The Taproom, says that, according to that math and the naming conventions of the event, “The more beer you drink, the gooder you do.”
"The WVC Foundation is thrilled to connect with the community and highlight our mission at Do Good Drink Beer," said Lupe Brito, WVC Foundation development director. "These kinds of events offer a wonderful opportunity to raise funds for student education, increase awareness of our programs, and showcase the support we provide."
College and beer: It’s a match made in heaven. Well, technically, at Hellbent Brewing, but you get the picture.
