Leavenworth Sausage Garten recognized for vegan sausage

LEAVENWORTH — The Leavenworth Sausage Garten has been recognized by People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for having one of the best vegan sausages in the country.

PETA named Leavenworth Sausage Garten’s Field Roast Smoked Apple & Sage vegan sausage in its “Top 10 Restaurants Offering Vegan Sausage for Oktoberfest” list. 

“Leavenworth Sausage Garten is serving up a scrumptious, sizzling sausage that give pigs and cows something to celebrate, too, and bursts with bold, plant-powered flavor,” says PETA Founder Ingrid Newkirk. “Every vegan sausage on PETA’s Top Ten list is worth raising a glass to, as it’s perfect for Oktoberfest and leaves animals in peace.”

According to PETA, Leavenworth Sausage Garten will receive a framed award certificate from PETA along with bragging rights. Other winning restaurants include Hollerbach’s German Restaurant in Sanford, Florida, The Vanguard in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Fassler Hall in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
