WENATCHEE — This year’s Independence Day celebration on the Columbia River promises to be as spectacular as the people of Wenatchee have come to expect. The City of Wenatchee and Elevated Marketing & Events are once again teaming up to present the festivities.
Walla Walla Point Park will play host to a two-day event featuring food vendors, live music and entertainment on the Elevated Events Stage, a pickleball tournament starting at 8 a.m. on July 3, as well as the Red White & Brews Beer Garden, all spanning July 3–4.
Food vendors (open at 4 p.m. July 3):
Entertainment on July 3 includes the rock stylings of The Bada Bings live on stage at 4 p.m., then an 8:45 p.m. “Movie in the Park” showing of the 1993 classic family baseball film “The Sandlot.”
On the 4th of July, gear up for local acoustic pop and jazz heartthrob Beau Warren at 12:30 p.m., followed by the valley’s legendary Seth Garrido at 2:30 p.m. At 5 p.m., event band LPE StarSign will take the stage and play through until the evening festivities begin.
Away from the entertainment stage, you can catch the Cars, Coffee & Fireworks Car Show starting at 9 a.m. Hang out in the park all day and enjoy the festivities or take a walk along the Apple Capital Loop Trail in the afternoon before the big finale, a rendition of the National Anthem sung by Wenatchee’s own Apollo Club, accompanied by the orchestras from both Wenatchee and Eastmont High Schools.
The Star-Spangled Banner, of course, precedes a world class fireworks show scheduled for 10 p.m., also set to instrumentals from both orchestras during the show.
Key sponsors this year include The Salcido Group of Companies, the City of East Wenatchee, Weinstein Beverage, VIsit Wenatchee, Elevated Marketing & Events and Pat Armstrong Ford.
Bring the whole family and come celebrate our nation’s 249th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with food, fun and fireworks.
