WENATCHEE - Wenatchee Police Department traffic officers arrested two individuals and seized illegally modified firearms and a substantial quantity of cocaine during a street racing incident on March 29. The officers were conducting patrols to combat illegal street racing in the 800 block of North Mission Street when they observed a Honda Civic and a Honda Accord racing northbound at speeds exceeding 60 MPH in a 30 MPH zone.

While the Civic fled the scene at high speed, officers were able to stop the Accord and tow it under new Washington State laws designed to address street racing. During the process, a pistol was spotted in plain view, prompting officers to seize the vehicle for a search warrant.

Upon executing the warrant, authorities discovered two illegally modified Glock pistols capable of fully automatic fire, one of which was reported stolen. Additionally, over 20 grams of cocaine packaged for sale was found in the vehicle.

The driver, identified as 19-year-old Brandon Cabrera of George, was arrested on multiple charges, including two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 2nd Degree, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver – Cocaine, and Racing. A juvenile male passenger from Quincy faces the same charges, with the exception of racing. A second passenger was released at the scene.
