Tour de Bloom starts Friday — Here are the road closures for Stage One

Posted

WATERVILLE — The annual Tour de Bloom race is here, and 2025’s race begins in Waterville on Friday. Because it’s an all day affair, the road closures involved in this stage of the Tour will affect everyone in the area who tries to go anywhere along the race route.

Including setup and breakdown of the course, activity regarding the race will last about 11 hours, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Douglas County has helpfully provided maps of the affected areas so that locals and travelers can be aware of potential backups and delays. Roads will remain open for normal public use, but there may be significant slowdowns throughout the day.

Traffic control will be in place according to the Washington State Department of Transportation Bicycle Racing Guidelines Manual and the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.

Billed as the Northwest’s Premier 5-Day Stage Race, the Tour de Bloom is now in its 25th year, and has attracted some of the world’s top cyclists to our area to join in the fun and be a part of the competition.

Friday is only Stage One — there will be more racing to come after the Waterville portion has concluded.

Drive safely and obey any temporary traffic variances, and enjoy the race!
