CASHMERE — The Campground Boys, a five-member bluegrass band featuring musicians from across Washington state, will perform Saturday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. at Cashmere Community Church as part of the Cashmere Community Concerts series.
The group formed after its members began playing together at the Wenatchee River Bluegrass Festival. Their informal jam sessions led them to combine their musical experience and begin performing as a band.
The Campground Boys bring decades of combined musical and performance experience to the stage, with a traditional bluegrass lineup featuring banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar and upright bass.
Band members include Bob Martin of Blaine on banjo, Ruben Taylor of Cle Elum on mandolin, Kent Powell of Tacoma on bass, Pete Goodall of Bellingham on guitar and Robbie Bennett of Redmond on fiddle.
The concert is organized by Cashmere Community Concerts, a nonprofit organization that provides affordable live music performances in the Wenatchee Valley.
Admission is $5 per person at the door to help cover event expenses. Musicians will be compensated through a one-time collection during the concert, with suggested donations of $8 to $15 per person.
The performance will take place at Cashmere Community Church, 213 S. Division St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the concert begins at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be provided, and the event will feature concert-style seating in an alcohol-free setting.
