WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee Valley College Drama Club will bring a student-driven production to the stage next month with Arc: The Musical, running May 7 through May 10 at 6 p.m. in Wells Hall Theater on the Wenatchee campus.

The show, described as a world premiere, tells the story of Joan of Arc’s visions, victories and vanquishments through a blend of 1990s alternative music, French romanticism and medieval themes.

“This is a world premier of a student-written jukebox musical, produced, directed, managed, and acted by students, from lighting and sound to choreography, costuming, and set work,” said Rebecca Hargrove, faculty advisor for the WVC Drama Club.

The production brings together students from across the Wenatchee Valley, including participants from Wenatchee Valley College, Cashmere High School, Eastmont High School, Wenatchee High School, the River Academy and homeschool programs, along with WVC alumni.

Sophie Thomas Piscopo leads the cast as Joan of Arc, joined by Micah Meloy as the dauphin and Dillon Clare as John of Bedford. Supporting roles include Hannah Blank as St. Catherine, Renisa Macklin as St. Michael and Avalene Floyd as St. Margaret, with a larger ensemble cast contributing to the student-led production.

Behind the scenes, Eli Wright serves as artistic and vocal director and leads script and marketing efforts, with Ashley Jensen as administrative director, Hannah Wright as choreographer, Ruby Schulte as stage manager and Elana Wendorf overseeing house and production management.

Tickets will be sold at the Van Tassell Center near the Wells House on the WVC campus and at the door. Prices are $7 for students and senior citizens and $10 for adults, with cash, check and Venmo accepted.

The community is invited to attend the performances, which highlight student creativity and collaboration across schools in the region.
