Piatigorsky Foundation concert brings world-class musicians to WVC on April 22

WENATCHEE — An evening of live classical music, up close and unhurried, will return to Wenatchee Valley College later this month as the Piatigorsky Foundation brings two internationally recognized performers to the Grove Recital Hall.

The spring concert, scheduled for April 22 at the college’s Music and Art Center, will feature pianist Molly Morkoski and clarinetist Igor Begelman, with a wine reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the performance following at 6:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public, with seating available on a first-come basis.

For Wenatchee audiences, the concert offers a chance to experience musicians who typically perform on much larger stages in a more intimate setting.

Morkoski has appeared as both a soloist and collaborative artist across the United States, Europe, the Caribbean and Japan, including a solo debut at Carnegie Hall. Begelman, a clarinetist and educator, has taught at institutions including Yale, Juilliard and the Manhattan School of Music, and continues to perform and lead master classes throughout the country.

The performance is part of an ongoing partnership between the Piatigorsky Foundation and Wenatchee Valley College, supported locally by the Woods Family, which brings touring classical musicians into communities that might not otherwise host them.

“We are always excited to welcome the world-class musicians from the Piatigorsky Foundation on our campus,” WVC Foundation Executive Director Clint Strand said. “We are so thankful to the Woods Family, who through their generosity make these unforgettable nights for our community possible.”

The Grove Recital Hall, located within the college’s Music and Art Center, offers a close listening experience for audiences.

Parking for the event will be free.
