Need to let it out? Ground Control offers one night to air grievances at Petty Party

Posted

WENATCHEE — There may never be an opportunity like this again. That in itself might be something to bring with you to the Petty Party coming up at Ground Control in downtown Wenatchee on August 22.

Calling it “hot takes with low stakes,” the hosts at Ground Control are offering a once-in-a-lifetime chance for you to get on a microphone and tell the world exactly what bugs you, no matter how big or small.

The only rule is, no politics are allowed. That might be a dealbreaker for a lot of folks who get wrapped up in that, but when there’s so much more to get miffed about, why focus on the low-hanging fruit?

Whether it’s well-dressed ladies who leave their empty Starbucks cups on the shelf at Target next to the brushed nickel picture frames as if there’s not a trash can at the end of every aisle, or people who park diagonally across the back of a space you’re already in, like they had to jump out because their engine was on fire, there’s something that grinds your gears.

Now’s your chance to let it all out in a safe space, surrounded by like-minded, sensible folks who just want others to put their shopping carts back and learn how to use a roundabout.

The Petty Party starts at 7 p.m. on August 22, and Ground Control, down at 10 North Wenatchee Avenue, is known for letting events go until everyone has had their chance at catharsis, so they’ve wisely not included an end time (but it’s past your bedtime anyway). It’s a 21+ event, so bring your ID in case you’re one of those people who looks annoyingly young for someone your age.
