WENATCHEE — A 28-year-old man was arrested Sunday evening after a stabbing in a South Wenatchee neighborhood left another man injured and prompted a multi-agency search.

Chelan County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 100 block of Boodry Street just after 5 p.m. on Sept. 28, following reports of a fight and a possible stabbing. When deputies arrived, they found a 20-year-old man with a small stab wound to his abdomen.

Deputies provided initial aid until medics arrived, and the victim was transported to Confluence Health Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Through witness statements and evidence gathered at the scene, investigators identified the suspect as Miguel Angel Hernandez-Hernandez, of Wenatchee. Deputies said Hernandez-Hernandez had been arguing with another person he’d previously had issues with. When a physical fight broke out, the victim reportedly tried to step in and calm things down. According to deputies, Hernandez-Hernandez then pulled a small folding knife, stabbed the victim, and ran from the home.

Deputies and assisting officers searched the surrounding area, and later located Hernandez-Hernandez at a residence in the 900 block of Cherry Street. He was taken into custody without further incident with help from supporting local agencies.

Investigators confirmed the suspect and victim lived in the same residence on Boodry Street. He was booked into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center on suspicion of first-degree assault (domestic violence), where he remained at the time of this report.

The case remains under investigation by the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office.
