Icicle Road water outage scheduled for Oct. 29

LEAVENWORTH — A planned water outage for the Icicle Road area has been rescheduled for Oct. 29, from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The extended outage is planned for the neighborhoods along Icicle Road, from the Icicle Road Bridge to East Leavenworth Road, as part of the Icicle Road Transmission Main Project. According to the city, the shutdown involves closing two key valves, which is critical for connecting the new main. The outage was expected to last approximately eight hours.

The ongoing Icicle Road Transmission Main Project aims to increase the capacity of the water distribution system, providing greater water pressure during peak flow and increasing the availability of flow for the event of a fire. The work involves installing a new and larger water main between the groundwater well site on Icicle Road and the roundabout with US-2, and from the roundabout to the US-2 and Mill Street intersection.

The outage was originally scheduled for Oct. 28, but experienced a slight delay due to project complications.
