WENATCHEE — Residents will have a rare opportunity to step inside some of the Wenatchee Valley’s historic landmarks next month during the annual Historic Homes Tour hosted by the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center and the City of Wenatchee Historic Preservation Board.
The self-guided tour is scheduled for June 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature a mix of private homes, historic buildings and preserved community landmarks across both Wenatchee and East Wenatchee, many of which are not typically open to the public.
Organizers say the annual event offers visitors a chance to experience the craftsmanship, architecture and personal histories tied to some of the valley’s older and more historically significant properties while also highlighting the importance of historic preservation throughout the community.
Volunteer docents will be stationed throughout the tour to share historical research and background information about each location, with featured properties including homes listed on the Wenatchee Register of Historic Places as well as other historically significant sites throughout the valley.
This year’s tour includes stops at 3 N. Miller St., 500 King St., the Home of Peace Mausoleum, the Wells House, the Vradenburg Apartments, a historic property at 421 19th St. SE in East Wenatchee and a garden tour at 30 S. Miller.
Rather than focusing solely on residential architecture, the tour also includes historic community landmarks and memorial spaces connected to the broader history of the Wenatchee Valley.
Most tour locations are not ADA accessible.
General admission is $30 for Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center members and $35 for non-members.
Additional information about the tour is available at https://www.wenatcheevalleymuseum.org/event/historic-home-tour-3/ or by calling the museum front desk at 509-888-6240.
