Confluence Parkway Phase 1 construction set for March

Posted

WENATCHEE - The City of Wenatchee announced plans to begin construction on Phase 1 of the Confluence Parkway project, with initial utility work commencing in March.

The major infrastructure project will include significant changes to local traffic patterns, beginning with the closure of N Miller Street at the railroad crossing between Maple Street and Walla Walla Avenue in June. The closure will facilitate the construction of a new bridge and roadway across the railroad tracks, with access limited to local traffic only.

Construction crews will operate during daytime hours, though the road closure will remain in effect 24 hours a day until further notice. City officials advise drivers to plan alternative routes.

The first phase of the project, scheduled for completion in late 2027, encompasses several major infrastructure improvements, including two new bridges spanning the BNSF Railway at McKittrick Street and N Miller Street, and 1.25 miles of new street infrastructure designed to accommodate motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists.

Additional improvements include the extension of McKittrick Street, construction of a new roundabout intersection at N Miller Street and Hawley Street, installation of a signalized intersection at Maple Street, and enhanced access to local parks and trails.

The project represents a significant development for the city's transportation infrastructure, with Phase 1 introducing multiple new traffic management solutions and pedestrian accessibility improvements.

City officials have directed residents seeking additional information about the Wenatchee Confluence Parkway project to visit the official project website at wenatcheewa.gov/confluenceparkway.
