WENATCHEE — Confluence Health has earned multiple national quality awards from the American Heart Association recognizing its performance in stroke treatment, resuscitation and cardiovascular care.

The hospital received the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines–Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award, recognizing hospitals that consistently follow nationally recognized, research-based guidelines for treating stroke patients. It also earned the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite award and the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll award for meeting performance standards aimed at improving care for stroke patients, including those with Type 2 diabetes.

Confluence Health also received the American Heart Association's Target CPR and Bronze achievement awards through the Get With The Guidelines–Resuscitation program, recognizing its efforts to improve outcomes for patients who experience cardiac arrest while hospitalized.

Dr. Andrew Jones, chief executive officer of Confluence Health, said the awards reflect the organization's commitment to delivering care based on the latest medical evidence.

"Get With The Guidelines helps our teams put proven science into practice every day," Jones said. "Research shows this approach can support better recovery, with the ultimate goal of helping people in North Central Washington live longer, healthier lives."

According to the American Heart Association, stroke remains one of the leading causes of death and long-term disability in the United States, making rapid diagnosis and treatment critical to improving survival and recovery. The organization's Get With The Guidelines program recognizes hospitals that consistently apply evidence-based treatment protocols shown to improve patient outcomes.

The association said participating hospitals have been linked to higher rates of patients returning home after treatment, fewer readmissions and lower mortality rates.

Confluence Health serves patients throughout Chelan, Douglas, Grant and Okanogan counties and was recognized for both its stroke care and its efforts to improve the quality of CPR delivered during in-hospital cardiac arrests.
