WENATCHEE — Confluence Health and Wenatchee Valley Medical Group will begin accepting applications June 1 for a regional grant program aimed at supporting organizations working to improve health and well-being across North Central Washington.
The annual Community Health Partnership Fund distributes up to $500,000 each year to community-based initiatives serving Chelan, Douglas, Grant and Okanogan counties.
Funded jointly by Confluence Health and Wenatchee Valley Medical Group, the program focuses on projects tied to health and wellness as well as broader social factors that influence community health, including housing stability, food security, early education and economic support systems.
“Health is shaped by far more than just what happens inside hospitals and clinics,” Confluence Health CEO Dr. Andrew Jones said in a release announcing the application opening. “It grows from partnerships and a shared commitment to our community.”
Health and wellness grants are intended to support projects connected to prevention, access to care and wellness-related services, while social determinant grants focus on programs addressing long-term community needs that can affect overall health outcomes.
The Community Health Partnership Fund is administered through the Confluence Health Foundation. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and qualified government agencies located within the four-county service area. Churches and faith-based organizations are not eligible for funding.
Applications will remain open through July 31 and will be available beginning June 1 through the Confluence Health Foundation website.
In addition to opening the application cycle, the foundation will host an informational webinar June 10 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. led by Chief Philanthropy Officer Suzanne Carté-Cocroft. Organizers say the online session will provide an overview of the grant program, explain the application process and allow potential applicants to ask questions about eligibility and project proposals.
Wenatchee Valley Medical Group President Dr. Jennifer Jorgensen said the organizations view the program as an opportunity to invest directly in community-led solutions throughout the region.
“These grant applications come from a wide variety of organizations, but each shows a commitment to advancing and promoting the health and welfare of our region,” Jorgensen said.
