EAST WENATCHEE — Engines rolled and chrome caught the evening light as the Classy Chassis Parade returned to East Wenatchee, opening a two-day celebration that carried through the weekend with the annual car show at Eastmont Community Park.
The parade stepped off at 6 p.m., sending a steady stream of classic cars, hot rods and custom builds along the route from Grant Road to Valley Mall Parkway.
Crowds lined the streets early, many staking out spots well before start time for one of Apple Blossom’s most distinctive traditions, where polished vehicles shared the spotlight with festival royalty, music and community groups. Vintage pickups and restored classics moved at a slow parade pace, giving spectators time to take in the details as drivers waved and engines rumbled through downtown.
Families gathered along the curb, pointing out favorite cars while music drifted from passing entries. The event carried a relaxed, celebratory feel, blending car culture with the festival atmosphere that defines Apple Blossom week.
As the final entries cleared the route, the energy shifted into the evening, with Valley Mall Parkway remaining active with live music, food vendors and a steady flow of foot traffic that extended the celebration beyond the parade itself.
That momentum carried into Saturday’s Classy Chassis Car Show at Eastmont Community Park, where many of the same vehicles were parked and on display. The setting offered a closer look at the craftsmanship behind the builds, from polished engines to detailed interiors, as attendees moved through rows of cars and spoke with owners about their work.
Spectators cast votes for their favorites, including the popular People’s Choice award, while music and vendors filled in the spaces between rows of vehicles. Performances and live entertainment added another layer to the afternoon, giving the event a steady rhythm beyond the cars themselves.
Together, the parade and car show formed a familiar weekend pairing, one built on motion one day and stillness the next. The result was a full picture of the region’s car community, from the spectacle of the cruise to the conversations that followed, drawing crowds across both days and reinforcing Classy Chassis as a staple of the Apple Blossom Festival.
