Cascade Medical Foundation receives grant for cardiac monitoring

LEAVENWORTH – Cascade Medical Foundation (CMF) has been awarded a $2,500 grant to enhance Cascade Medical’s Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) program.

The grant helped CMF reach its $70,590 fundraising goal for the purchase of a cardiac monitor for the MIH vehicle, which delivers in-home post-hospital care for patients and provides monitoring for elderly individuals and those with complex or chronic conditions across the rural hospital district.

According to CMF, cardiac monitors are essential for emergency medical service (EMS) and MIH patients, allowing clinicians to check heart rate and rhythm, blood pressure, and pulse. The device will also have telehealth capabilities, ultrasound and a video laryngoscope.

The grant was awarded through the Community Health Partnership Fund, which is jointly funded by Confluence Health and Wenatchee Valley Medical Group and managed by the Confluence Health Foundation. Each year, the fund aims to award up to $500,000 in grants to work that not only enhances health and wellness directly, but also addresses the social determinants of health in Chelan, Douglas, Grant and Okanogan counties.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to Confluence Health, Wenatchee Valley Medical Group,

and the Confluence Health Foundation for their generous support,” said Cascade Medical Foundation Chairman Rich Adamson. “We are excited to see this equipment get put to work and grateful to everyone who contributed to making this possible.”

Last year, the Confluence Health and Wenatchee Valley Medical Group Community Health Partnership Fund awarded a $10,000 grant that helped purchase the MIH vehicle.

The purchase of the cardiac monitor is part of CMF’s mission to enhance and financially support Cascade Medical’s ability to deliver quality healthcare to the community. Since it was established in 1992, CMF has helped fund more than $2 million worth of equipment and programs for Cascade Medical.
