Posted

CHELAN — The Lake Chelan Valley Boys & Girls Club will host its second annual UW/WSU Celebrity Golf Tournament on Thursday, June 25 at Bear Mountain Golf Course, bringing together athletes, business leaders and community members to support local youth programs.

The tournament will feature current and former University of Washington and Washington State University athletes, along with local participants, for a day of golf and fundraising. Proceeds from the event will support scholarships for club programs and services, ensuring access for youth regardless of financial circumstances.

The event will follow a four-person scramble format with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Participants will compete in contests including closest-to-the-pin, long drive, straight drive, Happy Gilmore Drive and a putting contest.

The day will conclude with a luncheon, awards ceremony and silent auction. Members of the public are invited to attend beginning at 2 p.m. for autographs and photos with the celebrities.

“We are thrilled to bring the community together for our 2nd annual tournament,” said Angela Collins, unit director. “Our goal is to raise $50,000 to help further our mission to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Our club is designed to engage young people in activities with adults, peers, and family members, enhancing self-esteem and developing their full potential.”

“All our participants and sponsors are genuinely appreciated, especially our title sponsors, The Weinstein Beverage Company and Chelan’s 12 Tribes Casino,” she said.
