Black-tie evening in Chelan to support Boys & Girls Club and Apple Blossom Festival

Posted

CHELAN — A black-tie evening of food, wine, music, and high-end auction items is coming to downtown Chelan later this month, with proceeds supporting two local causes: the Lake Chelan Valley Boys & Girls Club and the Manson Apple Blossom Festival Committee.

The Neighbors Blend IV Black Tie Release is set for Thursday, Jan. 22, at The Landing Restaurant on East Woodin Avenue, transforming the venue into a four-hour dinner party and fundraising showcase built around wine, live music, and both live and silent auctions. Doors open at 6 p.m., with cocktails, appetizers, and the opening of the silent auction, followed by a multi-course dinner and an evening that shifts into dancing and celebration before wrapping up at 10 p.m.

Organizers say the event is designed to feel equal parts elegant and fun, with a full dinner program paired with wines including NCV Sparkling and Rosé and Tipsy Canyon Mélange Rouge, followed by an open bar and DJ to close out the night. Throughout the evening, guests will be bidding on an unusually wide and high-value mix of experiences, travel, and one-of-a-kind items.

Among the live auction highlights:

  • Two Alaska Airlines tickets
  • A vacation getaway in Mazama
  • A high-end Dell laptop
  • Several “stay and play” casino packages

That’s just the top tier. The silent auction ranges from local and regional experiences to sports and entertainment memorabilia and travel, including golf packages at Bear Mountain Ranch, Desert Canyon, and Gamble Sands, a stay at Lakeside Lodge, tickets to the Numerica PAC’s “Johnny Cash Experience,” a private hard-hat tour of Rocky Reach Dam, a wildlife and whale-watching tour, concert tickets at Climate Pledge Arena, a signed Rick Steves travel book, a basketball signed by the 2026 Gonzaga men’s team, signed NBA merchandise, and dozens of gift baskets and wine packages — and more items and experiences beyond that list, spanning everything from pickleball gear to Seattle Seafair passes.

While the evening is built around celebration, the purpose is squarely community-focused. Proceeds from the event will be split between the Lake Chelan Valley Boys & Girls Club, which provides after-school and youth programming in the valley, and the Manson Apple Blossom Festival Committee, which organizes and sustains one of the area’s long-running community traditions.

Kevin Erickson, a volunteer with the Boys & Girls Club, said that the organization was “fortunate enough to be picked as one of this year’s benefiting charities” for the yearly event held by Navarre Coulee Vineyards and Tipsy Canyon Winery, who produce the annual “Neighbors Blend” at their respective locations.

In the end, organizers say the evening is meant to be less about tuxedos and bid paddles and more about turning a good night out into something that lasts. By bringing the valley’s food, wine, music, and generosity into the same room, the event aims to send real support to two organizations that shape local childhoods and local traditions — and to do it in a way that feels as celebratory as the causes themselves.

Tickets are available at lakechelan.com or directly through the ticket merchant site.
