Beebe Bridge campground reservations to move to State Parks system this spring

Posted

ORONDO — Campers who return year after year to Beebe Bridge Park will soon be booking their stays a little differently, but the experience of spending time along this stretch of the Columbia River is expected to remain much the same.

Beginning this spring, Washington State Parks will take over management of the Beebe Bridge Park campground reservation system, bringing the popular riverfront park into the same statewide booking network used for Wenatchee Confluence, Daroga and Lincoln Rock state parks.

Chelan County PUD, which owns and operates the park today, and State Parks described the change as part of a long-standing partnership rather than a sudden shift. For at least the next two years, PUD staff will continue maintaining the park while working alongside State Parks on a gradual transition of operations, with full transfer targeted for early 2028.

Chelan PUD Parks Manager Ryan Baker said the move builds on years of cooperation between the two agencies and is aimed at making sure visitors continue to have a good experience at the park.

State Parks Eastern Region Manager Josh Bell said the agency is eager to welcome Beebe Bridge into the state system and to expand camping opportunities along the Columbia River. The park, he said, already offers a great deal to the community, and the transition will allow State Parks to build on that foundation while adding it to a broader network of destinations for people planning trips across Washington. “It really is a beautiful place to camp and enjoy the water,” Bell said.

For visitors, the most noticeable change will be how campsites are reserved. Instead of the current system, Beebe Bridge will be included in the state’s online reservation platform, which allows campers to plan trips months in advance and search for sites across Washington.

Several things, however, are set to remain the same. Day-use access will continue to be free for PUD customers with parking passes, including access to the boat launch. State Parks will also bring its existing discount programs for foster families, senior citizens, disabled veterans and people with disabilities, along with expanded park patrol and safety services.

Chelan County residents can continue to request a free 2026 parking pass for day use at Beebe Bridge, Wenatchee Confluence, Daroga and Lincoln Rock parks through the PUD. State Parks will announce the reservation system launch date in the coming months.
