Washington Wellbeing Initiative offers up to $40,000 for regional partnerships

WENATCHEE — Community organizations in North Central Washington are invited to apply for up to $40,000 in funding through the Washington Wellbeing Initiative, a statewide collaboration seeking to support projects focused on community belonging, civic health and wellbeing.

The initiative is accepting expressions of interest through Oct. 23 for its Belonging, Civic Health, & Wellbeing in Washington Request for Partnership. Funding of up to $40,000 will be awarded to one regional collaboration in each of nine designated regions across Washington.

Chelan, Douglas, Grant and Okanogan counties, along with the Colville Tribes, are included in Region 8, which covers North Central Washington.

The funding opportunity is open to regional collaborations hosted by a lead 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or tribal entity. The initiative seeks partnerships working to strengthen community connections, build trust and develop regional approaches to improving the wellbeing of residents and the environment.

Civic Commons, a founding member of the Washington Wellbeing Initiative, is helping coordinate the effort alongside the Washington Economic Justice Alliance, Statewide Poverty Action Network and Front and Centered.

Marilee Jolin, communications director for Civic Commons, said the organization is working to inform North Central Washington communities about the funding opportunity before the initial deadline.

The application process includes three steps. Interested organizations must first complete an online survey by Oct. 23 to express interest in participating.

Applicants may then attend an informational webinar scheduled for either Nov. 2 or Nov. 4 to learn more about the request for partnership and application requirements.

The deadline to submit a full application is Dec. 4, 2026.

The funding is intended to support regional collaborations rather than individual organizations working independently. Each selected partnership must have a qualifying nonprofit or tribal entity serving as its lead organization.

Organizations interested in applying can complete the initial survey at civic-commons.org/survey-wawi.

Additional information about the funding opportunity and application requirements is available in the Belonging, Civic Health, & Wellbeing in Washington Request for Partnership.

The first deadline is Thursday, Oct. 23, with final applications due Friday, Dec. 4.
