WENATCHEE — The Wenatchee AppleSox have added three junior college infielders from across the Southwest to their 2026 roster, bringing a mix of offensive production, speed and defensive versatility to the club.

Gage Wareham of Salt Lake Community College, Matt Torres of Fresno City College and Tarrell Reid of Yavapai College are all expected to bolster Wenatchee's infield this summer.

Wareham, a sophomore infielder from Colorado, arrives after helping Salt Lake Community College capture the 2025 NJCAA national championship. He appeared sparingly during the Bruins' postseason run but has taken on a larger role this season.

In 49 games, Wareham is batting .368 with 56 hits, 11 doubles, three home runs, 47 RBIs and nine stolen bases. Defensively, he has posted a .962 fielding percentage at second base.

Wareham has committed to continue his baseball career at Colorado Mesa University beginning in 2027.

Torres, a redshirt sophomore second baseman from Fresno City College, has shown steady improvement during his collegiate career.

After batting .277 with a .768 OPS in 2025, Torres raised those numbers to a .345 average and .941 OPS this season. He added 29 RBIs, 11 doubles and two home runs while improving defensively, cutting his errors in half and increasing his fielding percentage from .921 to .958.

Torres also increased his stolen-base total from six to 16, providing additional speed on the basepaths.

Reid, a freshman infielder at Yavapai College, has emerged as one of the most productive hitters among the three newcomers.

The Arizona native is batting .380 with a 1.072 OPS, 32 RBIs, 11 doubles and seven home runs while serving as the Roughriders' starting shortstop. Reid has also stolen 14 bases in 17 attempts.

While he has committed 15 errors and carries a .903 fielding percentage, his offensive production and athleticism have made him a key contributor during his first collegiate season.

The additions give Wenatchee a group of infielders with varying experience levels but strong offensive credentials as the AppleSox prepare for the 2026 West Coast League season.

The AppleSox opened the season May 29 on the road against the Edmonton RiverHawks. Wenatchee's home opener is scheduled for June 5 against the Kamloops NorthPaws at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium.
