Recycling, composting panel set for Oct. 29 in Wenatchee

WENATCHEE — A panel discussion on recycling and composting practices in Chelan and Douglas Counties will take place on October 29.

The event, scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Pybus Market Event Room, is part of the Pybus University series and is organized by Sustainable NCW. The panel discussion begins at 7:00 PM and is free to attend.

Experts from Waste Management, Waste Loop, TekniPlex, Winton Mfg. Compost Works, the Washington State Department of Ecology, and Zero Waste Washington will participate in the discussion. The event will cover what materials can and cannot be recycled or composted in the region.

Attendance options include in-person, online streaming, and on-demand viewing of a recorded version after the event. Spanish interpretation services will be available.

Before the panel discussion, from 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM, Confluence Rotary will offer e-waste recycling. Accepted items include computers, tablets, cell phones, e-readers, and charging cords. Monitors, printers, copiers, keyboards, mice, and TVs will not be accepted.
