Celebration of Life for Marjorie Jean Giesbrecht

With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Marjorie Jean Giesbrecht, age 99 ½, who peacefully passed away in her home surrounded by her children, on Thursday, May 7, 2026. Marjorie Jean Giesbrecht was born on November 11, 1926, in Seattle, Washington to Oscar James Smith and Irene Alice Wheeler-Smith. Irene and Oscar had 2 daughters, Joanne (December 6, 1934), and Marjorie (November 11, 1926).

Marjorie was married to Richard Eugene Giesbrecht, Sr. (passed on November 13, 1991) for 44 years. Together they had 6 children, Carole Jean Giesbrecht-West, Lynn Giesbrecht, Laura Giesbrecht, Barbara Brock, Lee Giesbrecht, and Richard Giesbrecht, Jr. Marjorie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and aunt. She was a cherished member of the Chelan community. She was a 44-year member of Silver Star Chapter of the Grand Chapter of Washington, Order of the Eastern Star. The offices she held were Past Matron, Deputy Instructor, Grand Representative to Ontario (these offices were appointed by the Worthy Grand Matron of Washington State). She was a life member of Silver Star, Harmony, and Okanogan Chapters. She was the “Sunshine Lady” for Eastern Star and White Shrine. She will be deeply missed for her warmth, her unwavering strength, generosity, and the endless love she gave to her family.

She is survived by her children, Carole West (Bernard), Lynn Giesbrecht, Laura Giesbrecht (Walter), Barbara Giesbrecht (Jack), Lee Giesbrecht (Delia), and Richard Giesbrecht, Jr. (Joanne), 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

There will be no service, per her request. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either Shriners Hospital for Children and/or St. Jude, in her memory.
