Leavenworth’s newest party boutique helps make every gathering special

Posted

LEAVENWORTH — Lindsay Schaible, the owner of the recently opened Mint + Sprinkle, loves a reason to bring people together – from the small everyday gatherings to the large milestones.

“I'll go to any party – I love parties…It's a good time to socialize and meet people and just kind of leave the rest at the door,” said Schaible. “I think I just kind of grew up like that, where you just wanted to get together.”

Mint + Sprinkle aims to help facilitate the gathering, celebrating and entertaining, providing the inspiration and details that make it special, including a curated selection of tableware, decor, giftwrap, and gifts for the host. The downtown retail boutique also has an online shop, where customers can ship to their home or pick up in store.

“I look for things that aren't in other stores I've been to, so they're not going to be at, you know, Safeway or Target…They're boutique brands,” said Schaible. “And they're at a reasonable price too. It's not any more than you would pay for others.”

Growing up with a grandma who owned a party store, Schaible not only developed an expert level appreciation for the details. While she loves an all out theme – such as Mint + Sprinkle’s Oktoberfest tableware, decor and accessories – she also knows that simply setting out a special bowl or platter can turn the everyday into something special.

“You create your party and your company…But this is just to enhance that,” said Schaible. “And that's that's as easy to do with just napkins or a plate…just little things add a little ambience to the event.”

Knowing that Leavenworth thrives on celebration, Schaible knows Mint + Sprinkle will be a perfect fit for visitors here for festivals, birthdays, anniversaries, or weddings. However, she really sees the shop as an asset for locals – a one-stop shop to quickly grab birthday candles, a card or a last-minute gift for the host.

“You can come in here and know that we've got cards, we've got gift wrap, we've got things that you can just instantly grab, and they're versatile enough that you can make it work for whatever event you need,” said Schaible.

She hopes it will solve the conundrum of either finding a generic and expensive item from the grocery store at the last minute, or planning ahead for something more specific.

“You’ve got to think two days ahead in order to even order [something online], and that's if it's coming in two days. And then you also have to spend a lot more time online just to find things, or you drive to Wenatchee,” said Schaible.

As Mint + Sprinkles settles in, Schaible expects to begin offering gift wrapping services and helium balloons in the coming weeks. She also has plans to dedicate a space of the store where kids and their parents can come take a photo on their birthday in front of a festive backdrop. Schaible hopes it will provide a special memory for those visiting on their birthday, as well as an annual tradition for local families, free of cost. She plans to share birthday certificates along with the backdrop, where kids can write down their current interests, color it in, and take it home.

Mint + Sprinkles is located next to Coned Bros. Pizza and below the Innsbrucker Inn, at 703 US-2, Suite B.
