CHELAN COUNTY — Dryden Transfer Station will have limited services between Oct. 31 and Nov. 6 while the county replaces a vital piece of facility equipment.
During that week, Dryden Transfer Station will not be accepting household and commercial garbage drop-offs; it will be open for brush and recycling only. The facility will reopen to full services on Saturday, Nov. 7.
The limited opening will allow for the installation of a new Grizzly, or the grapple that grabs garbage and loads it into trucks for the landfill. According to the county, the new Grizzly costs $350,000, and is being paid for with county funds.
The Dryden Transfer Station is operated by Chelan County's Solid Waste program and offers general household disposal, brush drop-off, and free recycling bins. It is located at 9073 Highway 2, about one mile east of the Highway 2 and Highway 97 junction. Entry is only possible from the eastbound lanes of Highway 2.
The station’s hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. No loads are accepted after 3:45 p.m. More information can be found on the Chelan County website.
